Wesentlicher ist aber, dass sich die Melodie über weite Strecken zum 5. Modus wendet, sie führt zum „do“ und darüber hinaus. Der gesamte Teil „populi et laudem eorum nuntiat ecclesia“ ist 5. Modus (= si) und kann nicht als 6.Modus (= sa) interpretiert werden.

The entire part “populi et laudem eorum nuntiat ecclesia” is 5th mode (= si) and cannot be interpreted as 6th mode (= sa).
