Die Frage „ist das nun ein Ton oder nicht?“ ist müßig. Das portamento zur Clivis hin wird in der Praxis unterschiedlich ausfallen. Sicher falsch ist es, den ersten Ton des Torculus ausdrücklich zu singen. Der weiße Ton wird dem gerecht.
„et ab alie-nis“ Pes subpunctis „sol-la-fa-mi“, inferius in E auf dem dritten Ton. Artikulation k-k-nk-nk (kurrent-kurrent-nicht kurrent-nicht kurrent): (–34).

‘et ab alienis’ Intonation torculus (over the fifth), the first note of which is, by definition, so light that it can even be omitted. All St Gallen manuscripts notate Clivis, L, Mp, Kl torculus. The question “is this a note or not?” is pointless. The portamento towards the Clivis will vary in practice. It is certainly wrong to sing the first note of the Torculus explicitly. The white note does justice to it.
