If the text were conceived in Romanesque, "nos" would not have an accent and the ending would be set as a normal PPO with Virga urgens on the inner syllable. However, as Gregorian chant is influenced by Germanic music, an oxytonon can be placed at the end of a movement and accentuated. In this case, the penultimate syllable goes down a tone, always agreed with Epiphonus, in order to emphasise the accent more strongly and prevent a pes.
